Sick Time can be taken by all salary and hourly employees, does not count as hours worked for purposes of calculating overtime and will not be paid out upon termination of employment.
Employees must have accrued sick time in order to request time off. Employees cannot use sick time to substitute sick hours during unpaid breaks or unpaid school closures.
Accruals: Sick time accumulates each pay period at an accrual rate of 0.0385 per hour worked.
This benefit is calculated by multiplying the accrual rate times the number of hours worked.
The maximum number of hours you can accrue for each year is 80 hours.
Rollover: Unused sick time will rollover each calendar year, up to a maximum of 80 hours.
Employees are responsible for monitoring and tracking their time over the course of the calendar year so that they do not lose time accrued when the calendar year ends.
Employees can only rollover and accrue up to 80 hours in a calendar year.
