The sick days are mostly swept under the rug if you can perform, but the paid sick days disappear fast. Just go to work.

You end up never being able to use them due to the ridiculous point system. You use them you get pointed. You get above 6 points which amounts to 1 per call off in a years time it will give them a reason to consider termination. This is the case even if you take sick time tomorrow and provide a doctors excuse. You can use sick time if you schedule an appointment a week ahead of time and bring a doctors excuse. This is really not helpful if you suddenly get something like strep throat and suddenly can't talk to perform your job. You will still be pointed. Management generally doesn't care about your situation when considering this. The only way you can actually use sick time without being pointedis if you go on FMLA. So word of advise, try to get your doctor to get you temp or intermittent FMLA so you can call off for mental health or in some peoples situation chronic medical conditions. This will cover your pay for the time off to take care of yourself or a family member. I worked there for 8 years and had over 240 hours of sick time that I could never use even when I took some time off to take care of my wife when she was on FMLA. That being said at least it is paid sick time.
