It is only 10%, and the money you save is calculated through out the year. At the end of they year they calculate the amount you saved, add it to your salary, and then you are taxed on it.

In regard to the employee "discount", one shouldn't even bother. The 10% discount from Staples already overpriced inventory does little to save employees any money.
