Short-Term Disability coverage pays you a benefit if you temporarily can't work because of a non-work related injury, illness, or maternity leave. Benefits may be reduced by income from other income sources such as paid time off. Your doctor and the insurance company will work together to determine how long benefits are payable, based on your condition. The cost of the basic coverage is paid in full by the company.
