bonus is very high component of compensation. there is individual target * individual performance factor * business performance factor. Swiss re results have been embarrassingly low since 2017 so the business performance factor has been stupendously low as well. on the plus side, they still paid out 80% bonuses after 2020, despite posting negative 1b for results
