When I first started I literally sat and did nothing for 8 hrs straight for the first week because I didn't have my access to the VA / or the equipment needed. That entire time I was showers a quick rundown once of how things work, I was never shown how to handoff to tier 3 properly and was never given access to do so in the entire 2 years I have been there. The knowledge base (KB) they have is almost never updated with important things, they will update things that don't matter like dress code but not important things like how to fix a common technical issue after a windows update changed the way it needed to be done. I have personally stated someone should update a couple of things and unify the way things are done instead of everyone doing things differently, but no one cares enough to do anything about it and I am unable to edit it myself. If you ask a certain team lead how something is done they usually give a condescending response and are usually extremely annoyed and unhelpful. Management never trains, only the team lead, in fact I'm not even sure what management even does with our service desk because they are never around. They live in a different state entirely so it's kinda weird.
