Periodic bonuses, especially when a team goes above and beyond on a project, or when individual employees contribute beyond their role for a big project. They try to keep their approach to bonuses equitable so managers aren't awarding them based solely on affinity bias (hence why whole teams often receive bonuses for an exceptional project).
