There are trade fees, but you don't control the trades, so you don't control the fees. It has been making money, at least not costing me like my previous employer's.

The 401 K contribution is a little light. In general the 401 k program is ok with good fund selection ease of administration. It is easy to contribute and make on-going changes to contribution levels and funds.
