You take it by not signing up for hours, if you don't work you don't get paid; you just have to be careful to not take too long off or it's presumed you quit instead.

I have taken month long breaks because I got busy with school or went on vacation, and started back up whenever I was able to again. There is no set minimum requirement in how much you have to tutor per week. So again, just really convenient.

As a tutor, you're allowed to stop tutoring for a while. I believe you're deemed "inactive" after 6 months, but you can take up to that off without them worrying about you.
