Good benefits but at a cost...

The worst part is you can run into many doctors that aren't knowledgeable or think that you are simply faking to get out of work

Tricare is the primary health insurance for military. It has improved drastically over the years and is now very good. Low, if any co-pays. Free prescription medicine. Haven't had to pay for any medical services including the birth of a child.

A lot of Soldiers and family members hate Army medicine. My experience has been very positive (orthopedic surgery, family practice, pediatrics, etc).

Will rarely ever spend out of pocket for health insurance costs, except getting to appointments

The care is substandard and doesn't get to the root of the problem at times.

It is just the most basic insurance that they can get nothing special

Best: 100% coverage; worst: do not choose who you see

Free health insurance through tri-care, however many of the physicians used through this program would rather give you pain medication then investigate and treat a non-obvious issue.

The fact that one does not have to pay directly for it is great, but some may feel that the quality of service is not what they need.
