Having been hire prior to 2013 , I only contribute .08% of salary to FERS. Employees hired after January 1, 2013 (FERS-RAE) and January 1, 2014 (FERS-FRAE) pay 3.3% and 4.4% respectively for the same pension. Expect Congress to visit this again and possibly increase the contribution rate or phase our the defined benefit pension.
