Company match 6% plus additional if company had a stellar year.

6% match through Fidelity. You need to be employed 3 years or you do not have access to the fund VZW put into the account.

they match up to 6 percent, but only vested after 3 years, which is the downside.

Could be much better -

The matching is decent, but nothing like what the pensions are. They phased those out.

They match 60 cents on the dollar for up to 6 percent that you put in. That 6 percent match is automatically purchasing Verizon stock. You can put in a total of 25 percent of you pay check if you want to. The only minor thing is that I would like to see more options to choose from in investment opportunities.

The plan is competitive and you're encouraged to participate.

they partially match some of your 401k and can also roll over any past retirement plans, they work with fidelity investments which is a top notch company.
