Walgreens offers a wide variety of benefits to eligible team members designed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being while helping you balance work and life. In addition to company-paid life insurance and voluntary life & personal accident insurance, the benefits below are available to our team members.
It was easy to get time off when needed, although it was nearly impossible to get paid time off, and the health benefits were good.

The health insurance is simply awful. I have been a manager with Walgreens for years, but just recently signed the fam up for health insurance as we previously always got it through my wife's work. The coverage is so bad that it's almost laughable. You are given a "credit" to buy insurnace on a corporate exchange. Oddly, even with this "$500 credit," the cost to you (premium, deductible, max OOP, prescription, etc.) is almost exactly the same as buying it on the open market. Some "benefit"!! Anyway, there are some good reasons to work for Walgreens, but health insurance isn't one of them. In a nutshell, you basically just get access to a corporate exchange where you pay for everything yourself (at least the premiums are with pre-tax dollars).

The 401K was great. The lack of professional development (tuition reimbursement) was a negative. They also didn't go above & beyond for any maternity leave.

Best match of any 401k I have contributed too. Employee stock purchase plan was very good. Health insurance was not great but good.

We went into pto system about two years ago, and lost a day of sick payment and have to earn vacation and sick throughout the year. But they still offer sick days and vacation and health, dental and vision.

The benefits were decent, the only problem is you're required to work a certain amount of hours per week, and if you fall below that average you will lose your benefits. Walgreen's was CONSTANTLY cutting the hours.

The price. If you are single its great. If you have a family its unaffordable.
