Walgreens offers a wide variety of benefits to eligible team members designed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being while helping you balance work and life. In addition to company-paid life insurance and voluntary life & personal accident insurance, the benefits below are available to our team members.
Best: Great team to work with
Worst: Pay is very low

The benefits package use to be the best thing about Walgreens but they keep getting worse and worse. They have a 401K match of a dollar for every dollar you put in plus a bonus at the end of the year based on the Company's profits (this year we go an extra 8 cents not even worth it when in previous years we got $2 for every dollar and once I got an extra 75 cents on top of that). Heath insurance has drastically gone up in price since they started with the exchange. Time off is accured and can be used for anything from vacation to sick time. It's pretty nice but again in the switch to this we are now getting less days than we use to. They do have quite a bit of discounts with major companies (example I receive a discount on my cell phone for being a walgreens employee).

Paid time off and employee discount really the only benefit I can afford to participate in. Being paid minimum wage does not provide for anything extra, including insurance and 401k. It also doesn't provide for me the ability to live independently.

Health, dental, and 401K benefits are within industry norms.

The only benefit a part-time employee gets from day one is the employee discount. The very dismal other benefits are restricted to people who've been there for at least 90 days. The worst one is holiday pay, which is only given for those who work on very few holidays, one of which is July 4th (which I was put on). I heard about holiday pay, which is just an extra 8 hours' pay added to the pay period. Found out later that corporate only gives it to employees who have worked at least for between 90 day and six months (haven't gotten an exact amount). They also "encourage" store managers to make sure as many newer employees are working on such days, so at my store, only one person worked July 4th and was actually eligible for the extra pay.

The employee discount is awesome I didn't know that we got one until a week after working!

Profit sharing plan is decent with a good matching ratio, Medical could be better for a pharmacy retail company. Vision and dental is rather common plans.
