As a mid level creative, how often should you have 1:1s with your manager?

    I meet with my direct reports on a bi-weekly basis. Once a week would be too much due to how we operate. On the other end, my supervisor never meets with me unless I ask for it.

Question about portfolios: If I create the overall look and feel for a project and a coworker creates let say some motion work for that project using my established look and feel, can I include that motion piece in my portfolio on a page showing how that project came to life?

My CCO recently gave me feedback that I need to work on my scriptwriting—specifically narrative arc, hooks, and overall structure. It’s fair. Scriptwriting isn’t my strongest skill, though I’ve improved over time and sold many. (I’ve bounced between traditional and non-traditional agencies. So I’ve spent maybe half my career writing commercials.) And, now that I’m a CD, I’m not totally sure where to go for help. (Continued in comments.)
