There are a lot of good trails towards golden and Boulder. Each about 2 miles but beginner friendly too. Betossa reserve and Flatirons trails are really good and gorgeous views.

My kids race bikes so i have seen a ton of people learn.
I would do a lot of riding at bear creek lake park. It is pretty flat and not at all technical. Watch a couple YouTube videos. Try to always be out of your seat in “attack position” (find a video on youtube) on corners and descents. Try to follow more advanced riders and mimic their body position.
Once you feel comfortable with that and have achieved some fitness, you csn take a lesson. You might not need to though.
The best person to learn from on the front range is Lee of Lee likes bikes
My wife is going to a lesson on drops today with https://www.rowdyryderacademy.com based out of Arvada
