My company recently bumped our in-office requirement to 3 days a week. The problem is, they don't actually have the real estate for it. If you don't show up early enough, you're stuck working from a couch or a cafeteria booth all day. My team is playing musical chairs every morning to find a monitor. Is this normal corporate incompetence, or is my company uniquely chaotic?
I accepted an offer from another company because I see limited career growth at my current employer and feel underpaid relative to my responsibilities and development. After resigning, management tried to retain me, but I refused to even hear the counteroffer. I had already told the new company I wouldn’t accept one and felt that honoring my commitment was a matter of integrity. A colleague says I should have at least listened and looked after my interests. Did I make a mistake?

My manager thinks full-day pair programming is great for collaboration, but I'm struggling with it. It feels like someone is looking over my shoulder constantly, which ruins my focus and leaves me totally drained by the end of the day. Should I tactfully tell my manager how this is affecting me? How do you all feel about pair programming?
