Got put on a PIP after years of decent reviews. Did nothing on the PIP (at all.). Got several angry phone calls to my personal cell from manager and HR. Ignored them and stopped coming in to work. Within a week had *several* solid offers for better jobs. Took a couple months off and now have a great new job that pays 2x and is a double promo. So PIP possibly should stand for "time to get a more interesting, higher paid job with tons of new RSUs".
I’m in a difficult position. Earlier this year, I was ready to resign because I was looking for better compensation and growth. My manager and several senior leaders asked me to stay, promising better opportunities. This week, I received a promotion, which I genuinely appreciate, but the overall outcome still isn’t where I had hoped. At the same time, I have another opportunity that aligns more closely with my long-term goals. I’m confused if I should leave or stay due to guilt ? :(
One of the Tech VP of a super big finance company I work for mentioned yesterday that there are 300 AI projects in flight and not a single one has shown any prospect of revenue generation. Leave alone replacing a headcount. It is becoming evident by every passing day AI is a big bubble that will burst sooner. Those in the US will have a big dent in their 400k when S&P will fall when the tech stock tanks Companies firing people citing AI as a way to look smart among their shareholders
💭 If you were let go from your job tomorrow, what's the first thing you'd do?
My team just spent a ton of time interviewing for a software engineering position and right before we put an offer out the headcount got axed. Super frustrating and feels like a complete waste of time that we all dedicated to the process. Anyone else deal with something like this? Honestly I'm pretty annoyed and wish they just never opened the position up from the start
