I am super concerned, with how many freelance and remote work sites are behind a paywall, or require a fee for your application to actually be seen. I understand that these sites are trying to make money, but what about those of us who have no income to pay those fees, and need the money as much as anyone else? It feels so predatory!

I gave a textbook, diplomatic answer, but what I wanted to say was that my last manager was a micromanager who took credit for my work and then laid me off via Zoom.
