Initially applied toward the end of March. They got back to me for an initial phone interview in May where I talked with talent acquisition. A couple of weeks go by before I hear from them to schedule a panel interview with the one team member and the team manager in June. We talked about my general experience and the atmosphere was very relaxed, maybe even fun. Since we hit it off pretty well, they issued a take-home assignment that asked me to create a reference topic based on two data sets they provided. The description asked that I document the calculate function, along with detailed info on the parameters and return values. I got JSON and a Python script to go with this. So basically, API docs. They say "I’d like to emphasize not to stress over this exercise too much. We really just want to get a sense of how you would approach a task like this, there is no need for it to be perfect." Cool. I bust my butt trying to get the assignment back to them early. I'm not even sure they looked at my Google doc as they left no comments, views, or any type of feedback. Just ghosted. All that effort and not even considerate enough to reject me.
