I had an initial call with a recruiter, which primarily seemed like a check to see if I would be a good team fit. They asked for salary expectations during this call, so have that ready going into the initial interview. However, this caused difficulty in my case, as it seemed as though the job changed from being an hourly contract to being a full-time position in the time between landing the interview and actually speaking with the recruiter. I went into the interview with numbers prepared for a contract position, so I fumbled during this part of the process.
