A recruiter reached out to schedule an interview so I responded with availability. After no response back after 3 days, I reached back out and they responded with a couple of time slots to choose from. I responded with a selected time slot which was 4 days away. Received no email back or calendar invite confirming the appointment so was surprised when the recruiter called at that time. Met with a recruiter and heard about the team and talked about my background a bit. Was sent a coding assignment that I needed to complete within 24 hours so I went ahead and completed it that evening. The next day I sent a follow-up requesting feedback or next steps. 48 hours later I had not received a response. I decided this wasn't a good fit due to lack of communication by HR so asked to be withdrawn from consideration for the role. I immediately received a response back asking what had happened. An interview process is your first look into how a company operates if it's inefficient and frustrating you'll likely have a similar experience when working there. The recruiter was very nice but either overworked so much that it was hard to communicate efficiently or they simply didn't care.
