I applied online (via LinkedIn), and the HR department responded 3 weeks later to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview went well with HR, and he scheduled a follow-up phone screen with the CTO, who was the hiring manager. The CTO asked me to come in for an in person interview, so I traveled to NYC from the Jersey Shore, met with the CTO and he I thought the things went well! Apparently NOT! The CTO ended the interview by informing me that he would be traveling to India for 3 weeks, so he we "forced" to hold as many interviews as possible prior to his travel. He then went on to tell me that "next steps" would be to come in for a panel interview when he returned from India. WELL - 5 weeks after my interview(s), I received an email that thanked me for interviewing, and that it was 'pleasure' meeting me, however they would be continuing with other candidates.???? HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - And, no offer from A&E to reimburse my expenses ($145) to commute to NYC for the interview.
