A recruiter contacted me via email to set up an initial phone call about the position. About a week later, the recruiter calls, and we discuss the position and my potential fit. I specifically asked if the hiring manager had already seen my resume - and he said yes. He goes on to say that he will coordinate with the hiring manager to set up an interview. A week plus goes by, and no word from the recruiter at all. I emailed him to find out what was going on, and he says that the manager has picked the people he wanted to speak to - me not being one of them. I emailed back and confirmed what he said in our initial phone call - which was that the manager saw my resume and was interested in speaking to me...but now I was not chosen for an interview with him. This didn't make any sense to me. But in any case, the recruiter never responded back to me. So it is what it is.
