I applied online. I interviewed at A&O Shearman (London, England) in Apr 2016
Interview
Two-stage interview process:
- Interview with HR (about 30-40mins)
- Case study on an M&A scenario with partner (about 1 hour)
The interview with HR was just a friendly conversation; we talked a little about academic as well as non-academic achievements. Partner case study was harder, and I would have found it very difficult without ample preparation.
Online test followed by in person interview with partners and associates. Very long process with about a month or so between the different stages. Was quite straightforward other than that.
The interviewer was engaging but professional and his tone was detached. It lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. Prepare notes beforehand and keep making eye contact. at the end of the interview ask questions.
