      Account Executive Interview

      May 22, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      San Diego, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at AIG (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2018

      Interview

After a basic and conversational initial phone screening, I was then screened again by way of a 45-minute online inside sales and clerical skills assessment tool. I found the assessment to be fairly easy but it did require a bit of focus, apparently, I did very well on it. Once the results were in I was invited for an in-person interview at their office. Upon arrival, I was handed a math skills assessment that I completed quickly in the lobby and scored 100%. Math is not my strong suit, but the problems were more critical thinking than quantitative in their difficulty. I then took a 3-minute typing test. Once that was completed I was set up on a phone splitter with a current performer in the role. The working environment seemed very relaxed yet maintained a sense of urgency, and the gentleman I sat with was friendly. The job itself was like a dream. A marquis displayed how many callers were in the que to speak with account executives, and as soon as he finished his call and notes, he flipped into the ready code on his phone and he was instantly connected. Turning and burning inbound leads. Love it. I was then approached by the director of the office who was quite warm, respectful, and accommodating. She offered me the position after about 20 minutes.
