I applied online. I interviewed at AJ Tutoring in Oct 2018
Interview
Responded to an online ad with a cover letter and a resume. Joe (one of the co-owners) responded back the day after, and we had a brief phone interview to talk about why I wanted to tutor, what subjects I wanted to tutor, etc. During the phone screening, we scheduled an in-person interview at one of the AJ Tutoring offices. The in-person interview was pretty laid-back and conversational. I received a job offer a couple of hours after my in-person interview, pending I pass the assessment exams. The assessment exams happened on-site at one of the offices, and once approved, I was officially hired.

Interview
Very straightforward and streamlined process. When you submit your application, the owner calls you in a short amount of time for an impromptu phone interview and asks simple questions; it only took 10 minutes for me. Once this is done, you do an in-person interview that takes 30 minutes at most, and is mostly just related to team fit and expectations. After this, you schedule assessments for the subjects you want to teach and are not expected to know everything, as they pair you with a senior mentor to fill in those gaps. It's a solid part time gig and everyone there is friendly.
I was interviewed by on of the owners of the company who was conversational and put me at ease during the process. It was a simple, straightforward conversation about my experience in teaching and working with children as well as logistics.
