I received a phone interview from the in-house recruiter based on an employee referral. It was one of those behavior fit type interviews. The person said it would only take 10 minutes and ended up taking 25 minutes. This usually might be a good sign, but I don't feel that I got anything out of it.
I asked some questions about the culture and benefits. The interviewer asked my salary range almost right away. When I told the person what my salary range was they said it was too high (I proposed 10k less than I was making). I thought I would try the in-person interview anyway because I liked the sound of the culture.
A week later I went in for what was a group interview with 3 people, but only 1 person showed up. The one-on-one interview was average, showing your portfolio, etc. However, it wasn't clear what position I was applying for. When I asked, they said it was up to me. I thought that was a bit strange.
After the 1:1 interview, the recruiter interviewed me again. I personally thought he was a bit odd. He kept saying everyone was really happy there and that they were a very honest company.
They said they would get back to me in a couple of days. A week later they said they were able to get another interview with the head of the department. I said I wasn't interested and never heard anything back.
