I wanted to work at Aldi because I love their business model and what they stand for. I was even willing to take a pay cut from my current position.
The interview process itself left a very sour taste in my mouth. The supervisor who interviewed me was very uncommunicative. I did not get an offer and it was only after 2 follow-up emails over the course of 3 weeks that he finally notified me they had gone with another candidate. I never received the automated email from their ATS either.
There were other red flags too. We had tech issues during the first interview and he wasn't able to accommodate a phone call. He wanted to reschedule for the following Tuesday and I asked for another date because I had a work trip. He ignored my 2 emails asking for more availability. Then he reached back out weeks later to reschedule.
Not a good candidate experience. I'm secretly glad it did not work out. I feel like I dodged a bullet with that one.
