I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Birmingham, England) in Feb 2021
Interview
Following submission of an online application and psychometric testing , I was invited to a video interview. You are advised about some content of the interview so that you know what to research (business model and working culture). The 'interview', conducted online, consists of you being presented with a question, then a timer appears giving you 60 sections to prepare your response. At the end of the prep time, the system switches to the video on your device and gives you 60 to 90 seconds to respond to the question whilst being recorded. After that time, the video ends and the next question comes up. You can take time between the questions but once you click to see the question, the timing starts. It's quite intense. After the video stage, I was invited to an on-line meeting with actual people. It was frustrating that you don't get to meet anyone face-to-face (even if virtually) until the 4th round of the interview process - quite impersonal.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Throughout the process, Aldi are keen to see that you've researched their business and understand the brand. They ask about which Aldi products you like, their 5 principals and their values. They ask about your interpretation of the culture of the firm.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Sydney)
Interview
The interview was three rounds, one with the HR phone call, then followed by a virtual behavioural interview with your direct leader and then a final one with a take-home presentation for 30min with a panel (including your future +1 and +2)
The video interview is quite annoying. You have to prepare or answer question in a rush. The candidate only has 30 sec to prepare and 60 sec to answer some questions, which have many sub-questions. I mean, I can read all the info in 15 sec, but 15 seconds are not enough for me to organise my thoughts, and 60 seconds are not enough to have a complete answer either.
very smooth interview process with the manager and director interview very close to each other (about 2 days between interviews). Received and Accepted offer in a very short turnaround time.
