I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ALDI (New York, NY) in Dec 2022
Interview
I applied through the ALDI corporate website for the District Manager position. I went through the entire process, which spanned five different interviews: first was an ALDI SparkHire interview with prerecorded interview questions. I had two consecutive Microsoft Teams interviews with DO's in the division - lasting about 30 to 40 minutes each. Lastly, I interviewed with another DO in person, followed by an interview with the Divisional VP. Everyone was extremely kind and professional throughout the experience. They were very open about the possibility of being sent anywhere in the division if brought on to the position. The Divisional VP made it very clear that especially during training, you will be working 60-70 hours a week. The pay and benefits cannot be matched if you are willing to give up your work-life balance and commit to ALDI. They made it very clear that if you want the opportunity for career advancement beyond the District Manager position, you will need to move to a different division; possibly across the country. This would be an amazing opportunity for someone without much holding them back and is willing to work some crazy hours. End of the day - this is a great chance to make some great money, receive great benefits, and become emersed in your work. Proceed at your own risk!

Interview
First round interview was s video interview with each question having a prerecorded question, then 30 seconds of prep time to answer the question with about 2 minutes of time. You sit at a device of your choosing and stare at yourself the entire time.
Communications started with 3rd party recruiter. Behavioral interview, asked about experience, leadership, communication abilities, weaknesses you have. Moved on to next round. In-person interview following this with Aldi executive. Similar format to initial interview, mainly behavioral, noticed a complete lack of organization.
Every question in 2nd round was a follow-up to the previous question. Having interviewed for many roles across many industries over the years, this interview was an interrogation, not a conversation. Experience led me to believe that Aldi, or this specific interviewer, struggles to see candidates for the District Manager role beyond 'assets'. Makes you wonder if corporate Aldi has a similar effect on other peoples souls. See for yourself!
