I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Portlethen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland) in Jan 2023
Interview
I was invited to a 1 on 1 interview. Area manager was very nice and basically told me I had the job. She processed my application right there in front of me and everything. She was so pleased that she got the floor manager to do store experience with me at the same time. Usually you are sent away and about a week or less later invited back to do it if you pass the 1 on 1. We talked shift hours, holidays, when I was able to start etc. I was told to keep an eye on my emails over the next few days as I would be contacted. Cut to 2 WEEKS LATER I got an automated email from "recruitment team" saying I was unsuccessful and couldn't tell me why. I researched other people's experiences and so many were similar. Wish I had researched beforehand. They completely waste your time, only good for what they offer pay wise.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Why did you leave your previous job and want to work at aldi?
Group interview where you had to role-play scenarios about working in the store. Hard to actually get a word in and it was online which made it even more difficult.
Had a group online interview and I felt it was very hard to get any point across and it felt very over the top and the process seemed too long for what the job actually was
Started as a group where we were educated on the history and benefits about working at ALDI, and were asked what we think working at ALDI is like. Seemed like a good company with fair pay. The individual interview itself only asked availability.
