It was very simple and easy with fast responses. It always felt more like a conversation than an interview. I applied online, 2 or 3 days later I got called for an over the phone interview then was scheduled for an in-person interview a couple days later. I showed up for that and was given an AMC Stubs Membership pamphlet and their menu to review, since I knew they had a membership I researched about it before hand, and I really recommend you doing so because selling stubs is a big part of the job. I aced the interview, it was only about 10 minutes long, and was set up to come back for paperwork and the orientation. That was super easy as well, it’ll be a group of you guys just going over rules and expectations with the GM. After that you receive emails to do online training modules and food handling certification stuff. Once you do that you will be scheduled for hands on training for about 3 days, or you’re supposed to...my group got one day of training and then we were just thrown in because they were short staffed and needed people. Anyway once training is done you’re scheduled for real. *IMPORTANT* be ready to be worked to the bone for minimum wage, you’re expected to do a lot in ALL areas, it’s FAST paced, you’ll have super crazy days with LONG hours...like opening 7:30 and not closing till 1:00 am crazy (they will always open and close 15 minutes before or after the first and last movie) especially with new movies and during summer. Honestly, I remember cleaning the lobby and 5 minutes later it’s a mess again....and don’t even get me started on trash, bathrooms, and the freestyle machines.... I mean it’s a great first job, but just be prepared.
