Got a call from the recruiter, was very nice on selling why it would be so great to work at ASAPP. The recruiter then said I will be getting an email on building a project plan and to not worry and spend too much time on this sample project.
I hesitated because I been to a few companies where they asked me to something similar and spent all this time working on it without any compensation. there also been to companies there they ask me to come in for interview and then request I present to the whole group on the spot and then redesign their JIRA workflow.
I was naive and spent a whole day doing this, so this time for ASAPP I decided to only spend 30 mins on a basic project plan. I was then rejected.
I understand if it wasn't what they were expecting but I didn't even get to talk with the hiring manager or anyone on the team yet and they wanted me to start "working." The amount of hubris they displayed in my opinion was very unprofessional. At the very least be able to talk with a team member first before going to this step to get feedback or pay for the time that will be needed to create a project plan for the company. Otherwise just copy and pasting some template from the internet or some 30 min project plan from scratch is all that will be provided.
I welcome any feedback from ASAPP as only through real communication do we get anything accomplished
