I interviewed for the Senior Project Support Specialist following a school career fair. I had an initial phone screen at the career fair and a follow-up one with the recruiter and went through to the next stage: a virtual interview with the hiring managers.
The interview went smoothly, and I received positive feedback verbally and in writing, and I was informed to wait to hear about the next steps. To my greatest surprise, I logged in after a few days to the portal, and the company claimed that I voluntarily withdrew my application and was no longer in consideration. That was not true, so I reached out after several attempts to the recruiter, who gave a vague explanation and assured me that I was still in consideration and was being considered for additional positions. After interviewing for the role, I did not receive a rejection or offer letter, and I found the bogus withdrawal claim astounding for such an organization.
