It was a screening call combined with what I presume was either a work sample and/or an interview assignment. That said, they are just one of the many companies posting ghost jobs, leaving you hanging, and when you reach out again, they just say the position is "on hold." it's happened multiple times. Really unprofessional company - avoid.
