First Interview
1. HR interview (40~60mins) (Chinese)
The HR interview mainly focused on my resume and previous project experience. The questions were reasonable and closely related to the job description, with follow-up questions aimed at understanding my role, responsibilities, and contributions in greater detail.
However, during the candidate Q&A portion, the recruiter seemed to have limited visibility into the position’s day-to-day responsibilities, team structure, and development opportunities. More detailed knowledge of the role would have helped candidates better assess the overall fit.
2. Logic & Language test (1 hour)
3. Hiring Manager (1 hour) (Chinese)
The conversation with the hiring manager was relatively informal and focused mainly on past experience, so the overall pressure level was manageable.
That said, the discussion provided limited clarity regarding the strategic value, business objectives, and future direction of the position. A significant portion of the conversation centered on the interviewer’s previous achievements and management experience, while there was less opportunity to explore how the role contributes to the team or organization. I left the interview with some uncertainty regarding the management approach and the level of ownership the position would have.
