After 3 interviews totaling roughly 7.5 hours, including 3 assessments, and 5 recommendation letters over a period of 2 months, I was offered a position, only for the offer to be rescinded.
Although I received a digital offer letter, HR refused to offer me a digital contract and required me to travel roughly 1000 km to see the contract in person at their office. I told them this was unreasonable given the circumstances and persisted in asking for a digital contract. They told me to wait signing off on the offer letter until I received an answer regarding my digital contract request.
2 weeks later, after I asked for an update, I was told my offer was rescinded due to missing the deadline to sign it. The other reason my offer was rescinded, as I was told, was because my mother had taken a phone call in my place due to HR being unable to understand English. This was strange in itself, given that the position was asking for a native English speaker. How can the applicant communicate with HR when HR didn't understand English? Hence why I asked my mother to assist me in communicating with HR. As a result, I was told that I was "too childish and immature" because I needed my mother to take a call for me.
Overall very negative application process that made no sense whatsoever.
