      UX Designer Interview

      Jan 3, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Austin, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Abrigo (Austin, TX) in Jul 2018

      Interview

I became in contact with the VP of Product through my network. I sent him my portfolio and upon reviewing it I met with him for a casual lunch meet up at the Austin office. About 2-3 weeks later I was told I could come in for an interview. I was given an exercise to re-design the dashboard page of one of the main products. My interview was about 6 hours long and consisted of four rounds with members of the product team and R&D team. I had lunch with one of the product managers and ended the process with a meeting with the VP of Product where we reviewed my exercise.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Abrigo

      Interview

The process was relatively casual, as the culture of the company is to find a good fit for roles mostly based on culture fit rather than qualifications. The first interview was with HR, while the second was with management based in Raleigh. Both calls were relatively short and personality based. The third interview is 30 minute calls with each person on the team, which totaled to 2.5 hours of interviewing that day. I ended up giving the company a negative review, because I ended up not hearing back from them for three weeks, and when I followed up they sent a general email saying I didn't get the job. I feel if a company has you go through 7 different interviews, and claims to value personality and company culture, a polite email would've been greatly appreciated.

Describe a time when you had a disagreement with development, and how did you resolve the issue.
