Got a call from a recruiting company here in San Diego. Said they had a role of Sr. Director Quality Engineering, and I would be a great fit. They asked for resume. I gave them an old one....I asked for JD, they said the Hiring Manager (HM) was in the middle of getting one prepared.
Nevertheless I agreed to talk with HM.
Meeting / interview went very well, and was then asked to talk with VP of Engineering. That interview went well as well.
Two days later, I was asked to speak with HM again. We went more into the details of the job, and more of the logistics... hybrid / remote, which location...etc. At this point I'm thinking I'm a shoe-in...next step would be a verbal offer.
The next day I got a call from the recruiter stating that after discussing my resume with others, these 'others' felt that I did not have sufficient experience in Quality.
What ??? I had 20 years of Quality experience. If I had the JD, I'd be able to tailor my resume to highlight my accomplishments. Next thing you know, they hired some guy out of their facility in PA to have this role.
The way they went off and hired that person, who had less Quality experience than myself left a sour taste in my mouth for the hiring manager.
Go seek out r/ah_companies. where I'll be naming names.
