I was contacted by the HR manager for a preliminary call. Then asked to come in for a face to face interview. In the interview the HR manager as well as the marketing manager joined. I was told in the interview that i had wonderful skills and would be a great fit for the role given my experience and education. I was then told the next step would be a presentation with the Sales Director explaining why I would be a good fit for the role. I left the meeting feeling very positive and was even added on LinkedIn by the marketing manager. I was then told afterwards that they would be pursing other candidates. I would recommend that Academia not do this to candidates as it is unfair and creates a bad candidate experience with the company. Do not provide immediate specific feedback if you are unsure if the candidate will be progressing.
