I applied online. I interviewed at Achievement First (Bridgeport, CT) in Aug 2017
Interview
Before my final interview, I was on the keep in touch list for Achievement First. Then, a little over a month later I was called in for an in person interview by a recruiter. The interview process was straight to the point. The interviewers were very welcoming and engaging. They wanted know about myself and background. Before the interview, the recruiter emailed me a sheet to help me to prepare to speak in front of the interviewers. When I did my quick presentation, they gave in the moment critiques on how I could improve my delivery in a very professional and helpful way. Overall, the interview went very well.
The first round includes a pre-recorded interview. If you successfully pass that round, you will be invited to a one-on-one interview with a recruiter. Lastly, they will email you within the same week with your offer
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would I go about correcting a higher up, when they continue to make a mistake pronouncing a students name?
There’s an initial phone call that is first part of the interview, and then you complete the second part of the application where you answer interview questions via video. It’s not live but you record yourself answering the questions within a certain time limit. Afterwards, once you get accepted by the program you get an offer from a school and you do one final interview (supposed to be around 90 minutes with demo lesson, role play, questions about your teaching philosophies/techniques) with the school’s administration.

Question 1
Why do you want to work with/for Achievement First?
The process was very organized and timely. It was a very professional process. They were clear on their expectations for the interview process. At the beginning of the interview I was able to present my demo lesson and received quality feedback.
