After seeing an opening for AF schools on CT Reap, I sent my resume and cover letter to a member of the recruitment team. From there, I was invited to complete a video interview. The video interview was a very stressful experience. The questions were similar to what I expected - nothing too difficult. The format was strange and I did not really enjoy it. When I was ready to answer a question, I had to click a button. Then, the question would pop up on the screen and a timer would start with one minute to read the question and think about an answer. After one minute, my laptop camera turned on and started recording. There was a timer for two minutes and the camera shut off automatically after two minutes. After the video interview, I got an email with some brief questions. After I filled out my answers, I got invited to have a short phone interview, during which I was asked to elaborate on some of the answers I had put on the form and learned more information about the school. Then, I was invited in for a demo lesson and interview. I went in and spent some time observing in classrooms before I presented my 15-minute demo lesson. After my lesson, I was given some time to reflect and think of some areas of strength and growth. Then, I met with a recruiter and the principle of the school and we reflected together on my demo lesson. I was also asked some interview-style questions, but it felt very conversational. At the end of this process, I was offered a position and received an official offer letter in my email shortly after leaving. I only had 48 hours to accept or decline, but I was fairly certain going in that I would accept an offer if I were to be given one.
