I applied through other source. I interviewed at Achievement First (Bridgeport, CT) in Apr 2015
Interview
We did a tour of the school and the classrooms while students were being taught. Then the dean also did a tour of her own focusing on the culture of their organization. I then did a 30 minute teaching demo. Then came the typical interview one on one. The questions were common interview questions. Like what would you have done better during the demo. Interviewer said she would get back to me within a week. She was friendly enough.
The first round includes a pre-recorded interview. If you successfully pass that round, you will be invited to a one-on-one interview with a recruiter. Lastly, they will email you within the same week with your offer
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How would I go about correcting a higher up, when they continue to make a mistake pronouncing a students name?
There’s an initial phone call that is first part of the interview, and then you complete the second part of the application where you answer interview questions via video. It’s not live but you record yourself answering the questions within a certain time limit. Afterwards, once you get accepted by the program you get an offer from a school and you do one final interview (supposed to be around 90 minutes with demo lesson, role play, questions about your teaching philosophies/techniques) with the school’s administration.
