I applied through their website and a recruiter reached out to me shortly after. We spoke on the phone for about 15 minutes and had a great back and forth conversation. Just discussed the basic qualifications, and my educational and work experiences. After that she scheduled me for an interview with the hiring manager almost 2 weeks later. That was fine, I really liked this company initially, so I waited with no problem, and prepared all the STAR questions I could think of. The hiring manager was more than 30 minutes late to our call. That was already a bad sign. Our call went great though, she said I was a terrific candidate, however, she told me the company wasn’t looking to onboard anyone for about a month so they would reach out to me in 2-3 weeks time to set up an interview with a director. I said alright no problem. A week later, I get an email from my recruiter saying they decided to proceed with more qualified candidates. What? This is an entry level role and I was extremely qualified. AND I thought you weren’t hiring for another month?? There was no specific feedback at all. They didn’t even give me a chance to speak to the director like the Hiring Manager promised. I’m actually glad now, feel like I dodged a bullet. Thank god I didn’t decline my other opportunities for this. Don’t get discouraged if they do this to you, there’s way better talent acquisition agencies out there anyways, believe me.
