The moment I discovered this company, I knew I wanted to be a part! Coming from years within the ABA field, both as an RBT & operationally, this company stood out in the best ways. I had a phone interview with the Talent Advisor, where I learned that the job requisition had the wrong city & state and that the job was actually halfway across the country, however, after hearing more about the company, I decided to give it a chance and moved on to a second interview via Zoom with the Regional Director of Operations who I would be working with directly. Again, this interview went great. I felt like the company’s values aligned with my own and I was excited to potentially grow within the company. The position I was applying for was very similar to the position I was already in at another company.
I was invited for a third & final interview and flown into town for the day. Before the interview, the Talent Advisor asked me when I would be able to make the move, and I spent the morning looking at apartments close to the center. The interview was with the Vice President and 2 regional directors who were all very kind. While I felt the interview was fairly short for having been flown in from out of state, I found the interviewers to be both kind and professional. We discussed that I was open to packing up my life and moving across the country with a two weeks’ notice. At the end of the interview (on a Thursday afternoon) the director told me to stop wait for an email from the Talent Advisor. I arrived home and waited all day Friday and Monday and had still not heard back. On Tuesday, I saw on LinkedIn that the job requisition for the location I applied to had been reopened and posted by the Talent Advisor. I emailed her directly as I had been in communication with her throughout the entire process and received no response. The following afternoon (Wednesday) I received a generic email from the HR department stating that while my background was impressive, they ended up meeting a couple more candidates “whose experience more aptly fits the needs of this role.”
I found this response to be incredibly impersonal and unprofessional, not only because I had taken a day off to fly to another state to interview, but because I saw the reopened requisition on LinkedIn before I ever received an answer, and then received an answer that was clearly dishonest.
I stand by my opinion that this seems be a great company to work for & that they promote a great work culture & values within the ABA field, however, I felt that this was handled poorly and unprofessionally, and left me disappointed and unimpressed.
The company was emphatic about fostering growth for each individual within the company, creating and developing strong leaders, and providing a positive work environment. I feel that receiving some feedback from the team after my interview would have gone a long way instead of being blindsided by the job reopening and receiving an email that was not relevant to my situation.
