Interview
The entire process took two weeks. The talent advisor/recruiter was very kind and easy to talk to, and I really enjoyed her. I first did an interview with her that was about 20 min long and very easy. Next I did an interview with the regional director and operations manager. This interview was very stiff and I didn’t get a chance to get to know them as humans or the company very well. The RD asked a lot of questions and the OM barely spoke. The RD must have been in training because she kept looking away from the camera to someone else in the room and smiling and making faces, but she never told me anyone else was present. I know several high-up BCBAs in the company and was asked “how positive my relationship was” with them, which to me was an odd question. It felt very much like question-answer, question-answer instead of a conversation, and it felt like the interviewer was very formal and impersonal. The interview took one hour and was cut off right after 60 min even though I still had questions. I asked what they as a company tend to struggle with and was told staff morale and center culture was the biggest issue. They asked me which location I would prefer, when I could start, my ideal salary, and more, and told me I would hear back within 2 days. Three days later I received a generic email about how they found someone better suited for the role. It seems that for some roles such as CD, they prefer to promote from within even if that means choosing someone with far less experience than my 10+ years in the field. If you don’t have a strictly early intervention background with traditional clinic BCBA roles on your resume, they will likely not be interested in you.

The interview process started off as a screening call with the recruiter. The recruiter was lovely and did a great job explaining the role and the company. The next step was an interview with an RCD. This interview was much more clinical in nature. The final interview was with another RCD, and this was more of a conversation to give me opportunities to ask about the role and its day to day.
