By far the most unprofessional interview I have ever been too. Not a standard application process. There is a 15 question essay form survey in which you must write detailed paragraphs about what they are currently doing wrong and how you would fix it. This took about 4-5 hours.
This appeared to go well as I had a 1 hr interview with the Director of HR who asked me to come on-site to meet the team. I was then brought on-site for a 3 hour interview. I was to meet with 5 individuals.
From the start, the questioning was hostile and accusatory. This raised red flags already. There doesn't seem to be very much trust in people at this company and this might be from the top down. Never the less, I continued the interview and was set to meet with the next group of folks.
The HR person came and and informed me they were running late and were on a very important sales call. I get it, these things happen. She sat with me for the next hour and asked me zero questions and let me do all the talking. Once that interview ended she informed me that the next group of people would not be coming in at all and would "try and reschedule"
Mind you, this interview was scheduled 2 weeks in advance and they should know now to schedule a "sales-call" during an interview. This was a colossal waste of time and very unprofessional. If they weren't interested from the start, politely let me know rather than waste my team.
Overall a really negative experience with people lying from the very beginning doesn't exactly promote good company culture. I received a note 2 days later saying the position had been filled.
Don't waste your time on this company.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
If you were given irrefutable evidence
that Social Media was detrimental to
marketing, what would you do with
that?
As a company ActiveProspect prides itself on company culture. It is truly unfortunate that this did not come across in your interview. That said, we want to address some of the concerns brought up. We did have a questionnaire for this position as part of the application process. The questionnaire should have taken 30-45 minutes as the questions were based on candidates having experience in these areas and being able to answer the questions by pulling from their past experience.
As for the sales call, often a company must unexpectedly prioritize the needs of a customer or prospect. Sometimes this conflicts with other things that have been scheduled so we must be flexible and adjust along the way. That is why HR took over the interview when sales had an unexpected interruption.
Lastly, we had a lot of great candidates interview for the position. When we met the right fit,
we did move rather quickly to secure the candidate. Unfortunately that happened when we were mid-process with you. We will use this feedback to further improve our interview process and communication with candidates.
