I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Activision (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
Process was actually really smooth. No take home test, but I had an initial phone interview with the recruiter, and then a follow up interview to meet the hiring manager and one other team member. After holiday break, was given a final round 3 hour interview with same manager and another team member. Mostly going over resume and experiences, picking my brain about how it thinks and makes decisions in regard to my previous work. Two systems design questions directly related to the position, and they were interesting and fun. Very low pressure and the atmosphere was humorous and collaborative. Couple days later got an offer.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Just some systems design problems, the first interview before final round was just a couple of "can you describe how an algorithm to do this would work/be coded?" without having to actually code it.
I applied online. I interviewed at Activision (Vancouver, BC) in Feb 2025
Interview
Technical, followed by behavioral. 3 coding questions, 1 SQL, systems design, teamwork, optimized solutions, leetcode style, trees, graphs, ml, and more, I need to hit 30 word count so this is here as well.
Nothing crazy. Pretty standard interview process with behavioral phone screening as well as technical rounds. Preliminary technical interview was not too hard, latter interview was a bit more difficult though.
Total 4 rounds of interviews, mix of coding practices, behavioral questions, and CS knowledge questions. Process took several weeks. Friendly interviewer and good team culture. Good conversation overall, talked a lot about the team's project and mission.
