I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter on Wednesday, 5/22. After 2 days of playing phone tag, we were finally able to speak on Friday, 5/24. I expressed my concerns about the Glassdoor reviews that stated that there was a lot of turnover and layoffs, which she was unaware of and reassured me that that's not her impression of the company or the department. With reservation, I decided to move forward in the interview process. On Tuesday, 5/28, the recruiter notified me that I would be speaking to the hiring manager on Thursday, 5/30. I spoke to the hiring manager over the phone. We spoke about my skills and the direction of the company. I also asked him about the stability of the department and the company and received positive feedback. The conversation went well; was very refreshing, and he expressed an interest in having (an) in-person interview(s). On Tuesday, 6/4, I received an email from an admin assistant with details regarding an in-person interview for Wednesday, 6/5. The in-person interviews lasted 2 hours. I spoke to a number of individuals (I believe it was 6 in total) for 30 minutes each, including the CIO, who was VERY down-to-earth, relaxed, personable and informative. In fact, the conversations with all of the individuals were pleasant and more conversational (i.e.-not the typical drilling interview questions). It was evident that everyone had actually taken the time to review my resume in advance of the meeting. The individuals were all inviting and forthcoming with information with regards to the culture, the growth opportunities, challenges, upcoming initiatives, future endeavors, their experiences and responsibilities, etc. I didn't feel intimated or threatened in the least bit. For me, those conversations confirmed that the company was stable, offered advancement opportunities as well as the opportunity to grow professionally and learn/acquire new skills; all of which really solidified my desire to join the team. The next evening (Thursday, 6/6), I received a call from the recruiter that the team was interested in moving forward with preparing an offer.
